I can't resist buying new digis right now! I find it quite therapeutic to colour them in, so that's my excuse. I've got a lap tray for crafting, so can colour propped up in bed, but the actual making things part is more difficult. I work in chaos, and don't have a good desk for crafting, so I have to make cards on the floor. So I have quite a few coloured images and not so many made into stuff.
However, this little boy captured my heart. I had great fun colouring him in, and I had a card design in mind as I coloured him, so I just *had* to actually get it done. I'm glad I finally got my grey Promarkers too, makes colouring just that bit nicer without having to think about whether I have darker shades available.
The image is "Autumn Leaves" from The Paper Shelter. Autumn colours are lovely, and it's the season I probably cope with the best temperature-wise. To try to keep with these colours I used a background paper from PaperStreetDesigns.com, and the paler strip is another digital paper made by Correen Silke for ComputerScrapbook.com.
The sentiment is from a clear stamp set I have, and is inked onto some paper salvaged from a Kraft envelope.
There are a few tools I need for making cards easier though! One being a sturdy ruler and a set square ideally. Maybe some stencils. If someone would also trade hands with me, to make fussy cutting leaves easier I would be much obliged! Mine don't agree well with scissors sometimes.
All in all, though, I'm happy with today's work. Sunday seems to be the best day for me to craft as I'm probably at my most rested. Thanks for reading today!

Winter Blues
I never did put up those other pictures *rolls eyes* I'll put them up at some point!
Anyway, I got some digi stamps and other goodies for Christmas, as well as numerous other lovely things. So, I've made my first card of the year now (how slow am I?! Should have started before now). I also got some Promarkers, which are wonderful for colouring, so have used those to colour.
I used the digi stamp A. Mucha Influence - Winter from The Paper Shelter, which is a beautiful design, and also comes with the background stamp that I used for my card. I coloured some of the background with Promarkers, and paper pieced the rest with some blue patterned paper I had hanging around. To the coloured area I added some liquid pearls as well.

The image itself is coloured quite basically with Promarkers as well. I've not had a lot of practice with them yet, and I could do with a blender marker as well for on the cardboard. Basic looks good when the image can stand for itself anyway :). I used liquid pearls on the snow in silver as well, to add a bit of shine. The image is set on foam pads to add an extra dimension to the card. I decided not to add a sentiment to the outside, as I didn't want to crowd the card, and the sentiment I picked was pretty big. At a later point I may add a flag style sentiment to the very bottom, but I quite like it without. I've added another image with the flash on below, it shows the shiny blue paper I used for the circular area on the background.
It seems a definite improvement on the cards I've done previously, although they were still nice. Well, I liked them anyway.

So, I decided at the end of last year that I needed an engrossing hobby aside from my sewing. With Christmas coming up, making my own cards made wonderful sense. I made some for my nearest and dearest for the holidays, and they turned out alright (will post pictures later) but were coloured with crayons! So I've just bought some promarkers, which I absolutely love, and will have some more designs coming up soon!
